Carbonell's new position involves managing the Roig Arena and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation. Carbonell's face already appears on Mercadona's website alongside the other six members of the company's board of directors.

Roig's trust in Carbonell is due to his background in Valencia Basket and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation. Carbonell worked on the strategic development of the Comunitat de l'Esport brand and the Programa de Apoyo a Competiciones + (PAC CV Plus).
